Job Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects for existing and new customers. The Project Manager will ensure that project deadline and deliverables are met according to time and budget constraints and will manage the team members directly involved in the project (On-Site or Off-Site), and he/she will ensure the projects adhere and comply with standard Implementation procedures. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, control, and quality spanning technical, schedule, cost, and contract areas of all projects under a given client. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the customer relationship and is the primary customer point of contact once implementation is underway. He/She is responsible for the development of plans and creating a schedule required to facilitate an integrated work effort and in conjunction with the respective Technical Lead, oversees the development of the requirements for satisfying the Statement of Work (SOW), RFP or proposal required to fulfill the contract requirements. The role will be based in the US and the work will be primarily focused on implementing ArisGlobal’s Safety Suite Applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the multiple projects to the specifications agreed to in the contract, and provide a technical, schedule, and budgetary direction to the project team consistent with the contract.
- Responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and with the contracted functionality.
- Ensures all projects adhere to scope, schedule, technical and contractual baselines.
- Is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, and closing processes which include the development of the scope of work and the management of cost, risk, communications, human resources, scheduling, contracts, risk and quality.
- Able to develop and monitor project schedules and timelines to identify and meet critical milestones.
- Manages the client’s expectations, requirements, and perceptions about the implementation process, software, and consultants.
- Resolve complex project issues, using independent decision-making and negotiation skills.
- Maintain and promote communications through frequent project status meetings (both internal and client-facing), weekly project reports, emails, updated project plans, and the like.
- Remotely manage and organize multi-skilled, multicultural teams of customers, partners, third parties, consultants, and engineers.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them to development and product management teams.
- Coordinates the allocation of resources with the Director of Professional Services and Program Managers and directs the work of assigned employees as it pertains to the project’s scheduled activities.
- Responsible for managing, tracking, reporting, and monitoring project expenditures and managing costs in compliance with contract requirements.
- Responsible for identifying, documenting all required work efforts, and creating the formal project work plan/schedule through conversion of identified work effort estimates. Monitoring,
- analyzing, tracking, and managing the work plan/schedule to keep the project on time and within budget, including tracking “actuals” to “planned.”
- Identify and implement quality standards that are relevant to the project on a regular basis.
- Assists Sales in developing responses to RFPs and creating proposals.
- Responsible for facilitating customer assessments throughout the life of the project, providing assessment and plans for corrective action (when necessary) and areas for opportunity.
- Preparing formal project status reporting and conducting regular reviews and/or audits with the customer, executive steering committee, and/or program office.
- Providing timely distribution of formal and informal communication to customers, team members, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
- Responsible for maintaining project records and keeps a current project tracking log detailing issues, risks, open items, and change requests. Documents and distributes all meeting discussions and issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for conducting QA and peer reviews of project deliverables and manages the product and expectations through final acceptance. Presents results of reviews to clients for final acceptance.
Education and Experience
- BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or any relevant fields
- Experience working with Agile Methodology
- Demonstrable project management experience in a consulting, life sciences environment
- Experience of working in a life sciences GxP environment is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple projects ranging from 3 months to 3 years in duration, project teams from 5 to 50 participants, and project budgets from $250K to $3M
- Demonstrable practical experience of working with IT systems implementation
- Knowledge and/or experience of Computer Systems Validation is strongly preferred
- Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional Certification, SCRUM Master, or related certifications is strongly preferred
- Japanese language proficiency required
