Position Summary

The Vice President of Product Development – Regulatory leads engineering and product development across ArisGlobal's regulatory product portfolio, including LifeSphere Regulatory (LSRG), RIMS, NavaX Regulatory Products, and Sporify.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivery execution, product quality, and engineering culture across geographically distributed teams in Croatia and India. The role operates within a GxP-regulated life sciences environment and is a direct report to the CIO and Global Head of R&D.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Delivery Leadership

• Own end-to-end delivery across multiple product lines, from planning through release, ensuring predictable execution against program milestones and customer commitments
• Accountable for PI Planning cycles, sprint governance, and cross-team dependency management across distributed engineering teams
• Drive technical debt reduction and SaaS upgradeability as a core engineering discipline, including architecture modernization initiatives such as database migration and continuous CI/CD automation
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, definition of ready/done, and quality gates across all product lines.
• Oversee and deliver on multi-year SaaS transformation program, including multi-tenant architecture evolution, customer onboarding milestones related to program, and go-live readiness

Product & Customer Accountability

• Partner with Product Management to maintain clear accountability boundaries between prioritization and execution, ensuring roadmap integrity and ETA credibility with customers
• Lead customer escalation resolution at the VP level, including cross-functional coordination with Support, Professional Services, and Customer Success
• Represent engineering in customer-facing forums, steering committees, and advisory boards

AI & Technology Transformation

• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tooling across engineering teams, including evaluation, piloting, and scaling of AI coding tools.
• Define and execute the organization's AI technology practice, identifying opportunities to embed AI into product development workflows and internal processes.
• Track and report on productivity impact and ROI of technology transformation initiatives to senior leadership.

People & Organizational Leadership

• Build and develop high-performing engineering teams across Europe and India, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Set clear goals and accountability frameworks for direct reports, including engineering managers, team leads, and senior engineers
• Foster a culture of engineering ownership, quality discipline, and continuous improvement
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including budget oversight and spend governance

Program Governance & Reporting

• Maintain program governance structures for multi-year transformation programs, including milestone tracking, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Prepare and present board- and executive-level updates on program status, engineering health, and strategic initiatives.
• Manage capacity planning across teams, balancing product delivery, technical debt, and strategic investment.

Your Experience

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software product development, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering or product leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading distributed engineering teams across multiple geographies.
• Experience delivering software in a regulated industry, preferably life sciences, pharma, or healthcare.
• Strong background in SaaS product delivery, including cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, and release engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, including direct customer engagement at an executive level.
• Experience running large-scale technology transformation or modernization programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with regulatory submission and compliance domains (eCTD, IDMP, RIM).
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling and GenAI integration in product workflows.
• Experience with large scale transformation programs
• Background in both product management and engineering functions.
